Walk on the Water

I had an insight today about the theme song Walk on the Water of the Chosen TV series. When Jesus came walking across the lake, Peter said "If it's you, Lord, tell me to come to you on the water." Jesus told him to come. And Peter did. But then he looked around at the waves and the water and he began to sink. It hit me what that really means. Jesus bids us to come. We do. We step out in faith. But then we look around us. The world is falling apart, chaos and confusion everywhere. People have either turned against us or don't care about us. Looks like all is lost. Seriously lost. We're being buffeted by the winds and the waves and all the negativity they bring. And who knows how deep this all is? We start to sink. That water is deep and scary. But Jesus is already on top of it. "Oh child, come on in. Walk on the water.
