Tiny little me

Things aren't always about big and vast and grand. Sometimes tiny is important. Think atoms. So tiny we didn’t even know they existed until the last hundred years or so, and then only as a theory, a possibility, until the electron microscope proved their existence. Yet they were at the beginning. They were the building blocks of creation. All matter is but an arrangement of atoms, from bugs and peaches to planets and stars. All atoms.
I’ve often wondered why God bothers with me. There have been God’s people that have vastly affected human history, from Noah and Moses and Abraham to Abraham Lincoln, Billy Graham, Martin Luther King, Mother Teresa. All the apostles. Even local and nationally known people. Very important, well-known people. I was born, will live my life, and die without anybody ever knowing I existed, except maybe some other tiny people.
But God does. God knows I exist. He created me, just like the unimportant, unknown atoms that the whole universe depends on. As an atom, I don’t know what I am part of or why I matter but here I am. Being my tiny little self, almost completely unaware of the bigger thing that I am a part of but can’t see because I’m too tiny.

I’m glad to know all of the tiny items that make up YOU!
